Ricorda was born out of a simple conversation that sparked a special connection. An “aha” moment that was seemingly a lifetime in the making. The realization that, while some people view milestones as things to be acknowledged and appreciated, others find them to sometimes be just another to-do in the laundry list of life’s things to get through. Knowing how much the thought truly does count in people’s lives - whatever that looks like from person to person - Ricorda was created to bring out the extraordinary in what can all too easily be dismissed as the ordinary. Background
Having always been one for making mountains out of molehills when it came to celebrating friends and family, it was only natural that this personal passion would transform into a professional pursuit for Vanessa, founder and creator of Ricorda. A Denver native, she loves helping people create lasting memories in the city she’s always called home.
This love for making special moments stand out in the filmstrip of our lives was inherited from Vanessa’s mother - a pro at making scavenger hunts out of childhood birthday present opening, Christmas cookie decorating as much of a tradition as stocking stuffers and Santa Claus, and making everyone she met feel like the most important person in the world. But the notion of being more intentional about making moments count as an adult was reignited in March of 2014 - one year after her father had life-saving brain surgery. It was on this day that the realization of just how precious life can be, and how much meaning a year can hold when those 365 days could’ve played out very differently, settled in in a much different, much deeper way.
With this, Vanessa began marking these meaningful dates - for herself and her loved ones - on the calendar with annual reminders baked in to ensure no opportunity to commemorate and create new meaning was lost. While starting off small, it has grown into a way of life for her, and one she finds so much passion and meaning in. They say when you love what you do, you never work a day in your life, and this rings true for Vanessa in every way.
With Ricorda, Vanessa hopes to help people remember that life is made up of small moments that hold big meaning in their hearts, and every single one is worth celebrating. Being present and having gratitude for the memories that make up your story is a gift worth giving (and receiving), and she’s here to help you do just that.

Throughout her career she has found passion in helping businesses tell their story to cultivate meaningful connections with their customers. From large scale events attended by the Mayor to hand picked gifts presented to foreign delegates, she is skilled at making every touchpoint hold significance.
